Terms of Service

By creating an account, signing into the mobile app, or uploading any recording, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Black Robotics collects opt-in video + sensor recordings of everyday work tasks and turns them into training datasets for robotics and physical-world AI. The mobile app is the recording tool. The website hosts the documentation, the contributor account, and (where applicable) payouts.

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.
• Provide an email you control. We email you a one-time code; possession of that code authenticates you.
• You are responsible for keeping your email account secure. If you lose access, contact legal@blackrobotics.tech.
• One account per person.

You may upload recordings that:

• You captured yourself, with the consent of everyone identifiable in frame.
• Do not contain children under 16 as a recognizable subject.
• Do not contain personally identifiable third-party information (license plates, screens with private data, ID cards) where you did not get consent. Where reasonable, blur or otherwise obscure third-party PII before uploading.
• Do not depict illegal acts, sexual content, hate speech, gore, or other content that violates applicable law or Google Play's policies.
• Do not infringe anyone's intellectual property rights.

We may refuse, remove, or refrain from using any upload that we believe in good faith violates these rules, even after acceptance.

You retain ownership of your recordings. You grant Black Robotics a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to host, store, use, reproduce, modify, derive works from, publish, and distribute your recordings (and any sensor data, captions, or annotations associated with them) for the purpose of building, training, and licensing training datasets and AI systems, and for promoting the service.

This license survives termination of your account, with one exception: if you successfully request deletion under our Privacy Policy, we will purge your recordings and stop including them in new dataset releases. Copies already shipped to third parties under prior dataset releases cannot be recalled, but those third parties are contractually bound to honor downstream deletion requests we forward to them.

When we offer compensation for specific tasks, terms (rate, eligibility, payment method, tax treatment) are presented in-app at the time of recording. By submitting an eligible recording you accept the rate shown. We may withhold payment for recordings that fail quality review or violate the Acceptable Content rules above.

You agree not to:

• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service except via a coordinated disclosure arranged with security@blackrobotics.tech.
• Submit automated traffic at a rate likely to degrade the service.
• Submit fabricated or AI-generated content as if it were a recording of real-world work.
• Reverse-engineer the app for any purpose other than security research permitted by applicable law.
• Use the service to harass, surveil, or target individuals.

You can stop using the service at any time and request deletion from Settings → “Delete all my data”. We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law. On termination, the Privacy Policy's retention rules apply.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Black Robotics' total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount we have paid you in the previous 12 months, or (b) USD 100. We will not be liable for indirect, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, even if advised of the possibility.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflicts of law principles. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware; you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email and in-app banner at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the new Terms.
